The Silky Katanaboy professional 700 has hit the shelves worldwide!!

So the evolution of the Katanaboy and Silky saws in general continues. But does it really live up to the claims? It certainly looks good and with 3.4TPI could definitely do some damage to an un-suspecting softwood tree. I know that the agression of larger teeth being recently implemented by silky does make a difference. But on a saw this big - the question is “what are its limits?”

Meet the Silky Katanaboy 700, the next evolution in high-performance hand saws. Featuring an impressive 27.5-inch (700mm) blade and ultra-aggressive, extra-large teeth, this two-handed folding saw delivers chainsaw-like cutting power—without the noise, fuel, or maintenance. Whether you're clearing trails, processing firewood, or tackling serious backcountry tasks, the Katanaboy 700 offers unmatched performance for professional arborists, bushcrafters, wilderness enthusiasts, and hardcore DIYers alike.

So… Some Bold claims here by the guys at Silky. The power of a Chainsaw? I have the 650 which is only 50mm shorter but with smaller teeth and even though its an incredible saw, its not close to a good chainsaw. Do the larger teeth really give it that extra power needed to contend with a chainsaw? Im not sure.

What are your thoughts guys? Has anybody used one?
