Handmade Antler Ferro Rod Fire Starter – Built for Real Bushcraft Use LARGE 100mm
This handmade antler-handled ferro rod is crafted for bushcrafters, survivalists, wild campers and outdoorsmen who demand reliability in all weather conditions. Each rod throws huge, molten sparks thanks to its soft ferrocerium alloy — making fire lighting simple even in rain, wind, or freezing temperatures. The natural antler handle provides a warm, comfortable grip that won’t slip when wet, giving you full control when it matters most.
Every piece is individually handmade by a craftsman living outdoors in the woods, funding his lifestyle and supporting his children by creating traditional bushcraft tools. No factory production, no mass-manufacturing — just authentic bushcraft equipment made by someone who uses these tools daily.
The antler itself is pearled and rare, meaning it contains natural mineral deposits and internal texture that develop only in mature, high-quality antlers. This makes each handle unique, incredibly tough, and highly sought after by collectors and outdoorsmen. Paired with a soft alloy ferro rod, the result is an artisan fire starter built to last for years.
Whether you’re lighting a fire in the rain, training your survival skills, wild camping, or building your everyday bushcraft kit, this ferro rod gives you the spark you need with total reliability.

How to Use a Ferro Rod
Using a ferro rod is simple and reliable once you know the technique. Hold the rod firmly and place your Tinder (birch bark, dry grass, feathersticks, etc.) directly beneath the tip. Grip your striker or the spine of your knife (never the sharp edge) at a 45° angle. Instead of pushing the striker forward, pull the rod back towards you while keeping the striker still — this keeps your tinder pile from scattering. The soft ferrocerium alloy will shave off and ignite, throwing a shower of hot sparks straight into the tinder. Once the sparks catch, gently blow to build the flame.
